Product Description

WELD NECK METAL EXPANSION JOINT

Weld neck metal expansion joint is an expansion element included in the metal bellows expansion joint group.

Among the metal expansion joints frequently used especially in high-pressure applications, weld neck expansion joints are widely preferred and are used in machines, pumps, compressed air lines, superheated steam systems, hot and cold water systems, engines, exhaust applications, gas lines, steam lines, hot water and oil system applications.

METAL EXPANSION JOINT TYPES

Metal expansion joints are flexible bellows connection elements that absorb vibration movements or elongations-contractions that occur in the installation due to ambient temperature or the fluid.

These expansion joints have different models such as swivel flanged, fixed flanged, weld neck and slip-on types.

Metal expansion joints offer advantages such as minimum installation cost, low installation space requirement, no pressure losses, minimum operating costs thanks to insulation, no need for maintenance, and the ability to absorb movements in multiple directions thanks to their internal flexibility.

Pipeline systems are divided into sections, the amount of expansion is calculated, and based on these values, axial type metal bellows expansion joints are installed along the pipeline.

Axial expansion joints are manufactured as standard with a total movement of 30 mm and 60 mm. Depending on the pipeline and demand, production of expansion joints with different movement values is also possible.

The main element of axial expansion joints is the bellow formed from stainless steel material. Depending on the demand and need, there are auxiliary elements: liner, limit rod, cover. According to the pressure, temperature and type of the fluid used, the wall thickness of the bellow, number of plies and auxiliary elements are selected.

WELD NECK METAL EXPANSION JOINT

The weld neck metal expansion joint, which is among the metal expansion joints that can be used for thermal balance and mechanical expansion in all types of pipelines, is used in applications such as water, steam, natural gas, exhaust gas, vegetable oil, mineral oil, hot oil and oil products.

WHERE IS THE WELD NECK METAL EXPANSION JOINT USED?

Weld neck metal expansion joints are also used in machines, pumps, compressed air lines, superheated steam systems, hot and cold water systems, engines, exhaust applications, gas lines, steam lines, hot water and oil system applications.

These expansion elements are also used to absorb axial, angular or lateral displacements in pipelines caused by temperature, earthquakes, subsidence and dynamic systems; to reduce vibrations; for connection to elastic frames or fragile elements (pumps, furnaces, etc.); in vacuum installations; and to absorb movements caused by thermal dilatations in welded components.

WELD NECK METAL EXPANSION JOINT DIMENSIONS

The dimensions of these expansion joints vary depending on the project, location and resistance where they will be used. Getting support from professionals for the expansion joint to be used in any project will be the most accurate choice. For different sizes and specifications, please contact SMS-TORK.
